What Happens Next?
Once you submit your query, we’ll give you a call to discuss your plans. Every project is different, so we like to talk things through to get a good understanding of your needs, and recommend the best solution. At this point,
we’ll ask you to submit your plans
Once we have your plans, and property area (sqm) we can begin to design a system for you. We will look at the occupancy based on the number of bedrooms, and the area (sqm) calculate the required airflows. From here, we’ll select a ventilation unit that can service this load comfortably, meaning it can have a long service life by not being underpowered.
We’ll annotate your house plans to show what rooms are Supply (fresh air) and Extract (Stale air – generally kitchens, bathrooms, utilities)
Once ready, we’ll send the quote and annotated plans over to you for consideration.
If you like our quote and wish to proceed, we’ll arrange for an engineer to visit your property and see how a system would be installed, highlighting nay pre-work that might need to be done like coring walls/floors etc. They
will work with you to find a suitable place to locate the unit, often times the attic if you have no space elsewhere. They will trace where each length of ducting will go, and use the annotated plans to guide them. This site
visit is chargeable, with the price being deducted from the quote if you decide to proceed.
If you decide at that point, our engineer will provide you with two roof/wall cowls that need be installed prior to our arrival. We’ll work with you to find an installation date. Generally, our lead time for installations is
4-6 weeks. All pre-work must be completed ahead of first fix.
Our engineers will arrive early to start fitting the unit and running the ducting to each room.
In a new build, they will fit everything, but leave the unit sealed until second fix & commissioning, which occurs when people are living in the house (literally when the dust has settled!)
In a retrofit, first fix, second fix and commissioning are generally rolled into one.
Timings:
For a bungalow, first fix can usually be completed in a day.
For other buildings, expect 2 days
Payment:
50%
For building that need second fix and commissioning separately, we will arrange a second date with you.
Timings:
Usually 1 day
Final payment due
