Understanding Your Needs

Your MVHR journey begins with a discussion to understand your specific needs, ensuring a system tailored to your home. We’ll cover air quality, energy efficiency, and comfort, addressing any questions to provide the ideal solution.

Design Phase

During the design phase, we customise an MVHR system based on your floor plans, ensuring it meets UK Part F standards. Each room is designated as either a supply area (for living spaces and bedrooms) or an extract area (for kitchens and bathrooms) to achieve optimal airflow.

site visit

During a site visit, our engineer evaluates installation feasibility, determines the best location for the MVHR unit, and maps out ducting routes. They’ll also recommend any necessary builder’s work and provide wall or roof cowls to match your home’s requirements.

Install & Commissioning

Our team installs the MVHR unit, ducting, and plenums, carefully sealing openings to prevent dust entry. Once construction is complete, we fine-tune airflow, fit valves, and perform calibration, ensuring fresh, energy-efficient air throughout your home.

What is MVHR?

MVHR, or Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery, is an advanced ventilation system that enhances indoor air quality and conserves energy. It works by continuously removing stale air from rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms, and utility spaces while simultaneously bringing fresh, filtered air into living areas like bedrooms and lounges.

A key feature of MVHR is its heat recovery capability. The system captures warmth from the outgoing stale air and transfers it to the incoming fresh air, pre-warming it and reducing the need for extra heating. This makes MVHR highly energy-efficient while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment.

MVHR systems are ideal for well-insulated or airtight homes, as they provide controlled ventilation without significant heat loss, unlike traditional methods like opening windows. Modern MVHR units also come with filters to trap dust, pollen, and other airborne particles, which is especially beneficial for people with allergies or asthma.

PIV is not Part F compliant
PIV is non-compliant with UK part F ventilation regs and draws attic air, which may contain pollutants. Consider MVHR for fresh, efficient ventilation.
Essential MVHR troubleshooting tips: check filters, ducting, condensation drain, fans, and controller board. Keep ducts clean for optimal airflow and system efficiency.
